Karatzova Pepper

The red “Karatzova” pepper is a remarkable product for the local community of Garefi, of the Municipality of Almopia a region that stars in the production of this type of small pepper, from which the famous smoked sweet paprika is produced.

Until 1980 there were pepper or paprika factories, the operation of which came to an end due to the development of new cultivations

However the red pepper as well as the paprika maintain their notable position in the traditional table of the Almopia region, and elsewhere.
